Classify the units you own by wave clear, boss damage, support or control, economy, and flex coverage. A unit can fill more than one job, but writing down its primary purpose makes weak or duplicated slots easier to spot.
A useful build must reach its important upgrades during the run. Compare coverage, attack uptime, placement range, upgrade cost, and the point where the unit begins solving its assigned job. Do not spend only because a unit is rare.
Start with one dependable wave-clear slot and one sustained boss-damage slot. Add support only when the remaining damage still clears both checks. Enter your current lineup in the Squad Planner, then replace one weak slot at a time instead of rebuilding everything around an unverified meta claim.
